Gift cards have gotten some nice enhancements in the new Open Tender web app.
First and foremost, we have a new gift cards purchase page, which now allows customers to add gift card recipients (optionally). Please see this post for details: How to use the NEW Gift Cards page.
In addition, customers can now do the following from their account page:
Purchase new gift cards for others (via the new gift cards page)
Purchase new gift cards for themselves
Add value to existing gift cards
Add a gift card to their account by entering a gift card number
Assign a gift card to someone else as a gift
Remove gift cards from their account if the balance is $0.00 or if the gift card is expired

Adding a gift card to an account by card number is very convenient for customers who have either purchased physical gift cards or who have received a gift card as a gift from someone else.
In addition, customers can now make a purchase with a gift card by entering the gift card number on the checkout page, as you can see in the screenshots below.
