For those customers who have made the transition to the new Open Tender web app, the gift cards page now lives at the /gift-cards route, such as this page here:
Here's what it looks like for customers who are NOT logged in:
For users that are logged in, it's quite a bit more streamlined:
Logged in customers don't need to fill in their name and email, and they can pay with one of their saved credit cards (if they don't have any saved credit cards, they'll be presented with the new card form like you see for customers who are not logged in).
Customers can now add gift card recipients
You'll notice in the screenshots above that customers can now optionally add gift card recipients. If they choose to do this, then each recipient will receive an email with their gift card number and balance, like you see here:
If the recipient already has an account, the gift card will be automatically added to their account, which makes it super easy for them to use it. If not, they'll be able to add the gift card on the checkout page by entering the gift card number.
The person who purchased the gift card will receive an email confirmation that looks like this, which includes each of the gift cards and the recipient (if any):
If the customer chooses NOT to add recipients, the gift cards will show under their account, and they'll be able to assign them to others from there using the new "Assign to someone else" link:
How to manage your gift card settings
You can now (optionally) add a "Purchase Gift Cards" button to your site's landing page, which would look something like this:
You can add this by first checking the box on the Order Types page, which can be found here: https://admin.opentender.io/config-settings/order-types.
You can then customize the button text from the Home section under App Config > Content, which you can find here: https://admin.opentender.io/config-content/home.
