How to set up a Google Maps API Key

Every Open Tender site must have a Google Maps API Key in order to function properly

To get started, visit this page here:

In the "Quickstart" section, click on the "Get Started" button per below:

Follow the steps on the next page to set up a billing account.

On the next page, choose all 3 services per below:

You'll then see a popup that looks like this that contains your Google Maps API Key:

Copy and paste this key, and then paste it into the Google Maps API Key field under App Config > Settings > Google Maps on the Open Tender Admin Portal:

And that's it! You should test the maps functionality on your Open Tender site to verify that everything is working as expected.

Lastly, it's a good idea to restrict your Google Maps API Key to your domain only. To do this, follow the steps in the screenshots below.

Click on the Credentials option in the sidebar, and then click the edit icon next to your API Key:

Choose the "HTTP Referrers" option and then enter your domain per below with the wildcard asterisks:

Click the "Save" button and then verify you see a green checkmark next to your API key on the screen below:
