How delivery zones and priorities work

If you have a few stores that are close to each other and whose delivery zones overlap, you can prioritize the zones so that they can receive orders at different times of the day or on different days of the week. To prioritize, you just use numbers in the order you'd like those specific stores to be prioritized.

Let's say you'd like Store 1 to take over the delivery zone for Store 2 on the weekends when Store 2 is closed. You'd expand the delivery zone of Store 1 to cover the same area as Store 2 but set Store 2 as priority 1 and Store 1 as priority 2. That way, when both stores are open, Store 2 will accept orders over Store 1.

Here are a few guiding principles for priorities:

  • 1 is better than 2: Think about it as 1st Priority, 2nd Priority, etc.

  • 0 is no priority: It will come after everything else

  • More than 2 overlapping zones is totally legal!

To set up / edit delivery zones:

  1. Go to Locations and select the location you'd like to edit

  2. Click on the Delivery Zone tab

  3. If there's already a delivery zone set up, click on Reset Delivery Zone

  4. Zoom in and out of the map to get the full view of the delivery zone

  5. Plot your points by selecting the corners of your delivery zone, one by one (Pro tip: select the fewest amount of points possible so that it won't slow down the page as it's loading)

  6. Click on Update Delivery Zone

To set up delivery zone priorities:

  1. Go to Locations and select the location you'd like to edit

  2. Click on the Delivery Zone tab

  3. Set a number in the Delivery Priority box

  4. Click on Update Delivery Zone

  5. Repeat this for the other stores in the same delivery zone where you're setting priorities
